Hello FFL players!
Well things are moving along at a rapid pace since we re-launched the FFL so I thought it was about time to post an update to let you know what was going on.
Firstly a big "Welcome Back" if you played the game back in the old days. We emailed everyone on our old subscription list and the response back has been great. Hopefully you are all getting ready for the new game.
So a few words on that. Mr Smith is redesigning our game system and while to you the game will play pretty much the same, the back office side is being vastly improved. This means that for us it will be far easier to update the site and input the all important stats for each week. There will be a number of incremental additions to the site so you will notices the changes as we go. The last pieces that will be put in place will be our cast submission systems, which will go online on Monday the 8th March 2010. From this point you will have 10 days to get your cast in before we start scoring, which will start on Saturday 20th March 2010. If you get your cast in after this date don't worry you can still play the game but you'll miss the first scoring week. In fact you can join in on the game at any time over the year that it will run but the better your cast and the sooner you join in the better chance you'll have for scoring more points.
We will be running a closed test of the system before March and we are looking for a small number to help test it out for us. It will give you an sneak preview on how the game will work so if you are "in it to win it" then it's worth getting involved. You'll find a tick box under the sign up email at the bottom of the homepage but hurry as it will disappear when we reach our number.
In addition to the test run I'll be putting together the price list as we will publish that as soon as possible for you, so you can start planning. Also I'll be revising the final rules and posting them up but for a general overview have a look at our FAQ section.
In other news, this weekend we will be recording our first podcast episode and I hope to be able to post it up on the site by early next week. I have roped in a few familiar voices from our time on the David Lawrence radio show, so for those who listened to that, expect more of the same. This week we'll mainly be explaining the game in more details for new players and we'll be reviewing the greatest FFL player titles ever.
Finally, don't forget you can join the fan page on Facebook to get regular updates and if you want your updates in easy-to-read 140 characters, you can also follow us on Twitter.
